A tenure track position at the University of Salzburg offers clear career development opportunities leading to an associate professorship in strategic focus areas of the university. The four-year tenure track phase includes clearly defined development goals and interim evaluations based on individually agreed qualification targets.

The position is based in the Geometry/Optimization research group within the Department of Mathematics. The successful candidate is expected to establish a research and teaching focus in optimization. The Department is looking for a candidate with an internationally recognised research profile in the field of mathematical optimization, e.g. in the areas of polyhedral optimization and discrete geometry, optimization in connection with convex analysis and its theoretical or algorithmic foundations, or in other research areas at the interface between optimization, geometry and/or convexity. Academic links to the department’s existing research areas are desirable. In terms of teaching, the successful candidate is expected to hold courses in German on optimization and related mathematical fields for students of mathematics and other degree programmes.

The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a position as Praedoc in Numerical Analysis for an initial period of one year (with possible extensions up to a maximum of four years). 

The position is within the framework of the FWF-funded project Universality of Algorithms for Multivariate Problems led jointly by Dr. Peter Kritzer (RICAM) and Dr. Friedrich Pillichshammer (JKU).  The position is located at RICAM, and available from September 1, 2026 onwards, and the working language is English.

 The successful candidate will work on research in the topics of Quasi-Monte Carlo Algorithms, Numerical Analysis, Multivariate Algorithms, Uniform Distribution Theory, and their applications.

The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna is looking for a University Assistant (Praedoc), who will complement the research team around Univ.-Prof. Anton Mellit, PhD. The group studies the geometry and topology of moduli spaces and their connections with representation theory, algebraic combinatorics, and knot invariants. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in one or more of these fields, can easily integrate into the team, independently contribute to current research, and work with responsibility for results.  The team focuses on the field of geometry and topology of moduli spaces and their connections with representation theory, algebraic combinatorics, and knot invariants. Clinical tenure-track professorship position in “Intelligent Biosignal Processing” for candidates holding a doctorate/PhD in accordance with the collective agreement for university employees at the Department of Anesthesiology and Operative Intensive Care Medicine (Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University).

The position is open to highly qualified junior researchers holding a doctorate/PhD in medicine or natural sciences (biology, biochemistry, etc.) and includes the option of concluding a qualification agreement which could result in a permanent position as Associate Professor (section 99 para. 5 and 6 of the Austrian Universities Act) upon positive decision.

The offered tenure-track professorship position in Intelligent Biosignal Processing is intended to significantly advance the development of the “Medical AI” continuing education program at the JKU and to be organized in collaboration with the Center for Medical Education.
